Striped Green

Lyrics:

Look out the door,
they’re not here anymore.
You can turn right around and go home.

But where’s a home
to a man with no heart?
He can kick up a lark far away.

(Chorus)
I draw my breath
on a cold, windy day.
There’s a scarf ’round my neck,
and it’s striped green.

One single day’s
worth a thousand new shoes
from a very expensive store.

(Chorus)

Hold out your hand.
I’ll be taking it fast–
like the autumn takes leaves off the trees.

Shadows may glimmer
like sun on the sea.
But they’re not coming back in the morning

(Chorus)
